Variable shock absorbers
607 vehicles fitted with a V6 engines also have the AMVAR variable damping system: a sensor located in each shock absorber sends signals to the system which independently controls the dampers on each wheel. The system can "feel" the road and can thereby limit the movement of the bodywork.
Airbags
8 airbags are offered as standard on the 607: 2 frontal airbags, 2 front side and 2 rear airbags, and 2 curtain airbags.
ABS, ESP
The 607 benefits from a complete braking system, including: an anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), emergency brake assist (EBA), ESP, anti-skid regulation (ASR) and Continuous Damping Control (CDC).
Warning lights
Under rapid deceleration, the hazard warning lights come on automatically to warn the vehicles behind that there is a risk of collision.
